A Message From:
Pastors David and Shari Eggleston

Hello,

Like so many people the world over, we live and learn, seeking to make some sense of this sometimes wonderful, sometimes really hard, and sometimes crazy thing we all call life.   Trying to figure out how to stay afloat and how to deal with life – that's our starting point too.

We're Shari and David Eggleston, and we've been privileged to walk fourteen years with a community of faith calling itself the Aloha Christian Church (Disciples of Christ).  We also work in jobs in the larger community, Shari working as a church secretary (of a different congregation!), and David as a school bus driver.

As one of God's many efforts for blessing and healing ever since hurt, pain, and brokenness first came into the world, we and our congregation are part of what's called the “Restoration Movement.”   This movement began in the 1830's on North American soil, aimed at restoring the essentials of following Christ and knowing and living the gospel, the good news of God's love for the world.

.           One of the early mottos of the movement was “No creed but Christ.”  That is, they saw the unity of the whole church as being centered around the actual person of Jesus the Christ.  Our unity wasn't to be based upon our creeds, that is, what we believed about Christ or God or the church.  Rather, we find our unity as we place our trust in Christ, believing Christ, God, and the Holy Spirit.

As Sharon Watkins, our General Minister and President, says, we're part of “a movement for wholeness” in today's world.  We walk simply alongside one another through the wonder, hardness, and craziness of life.  Together with all those called by God the world over, we learn with and from one another together as we seek justice, hope, healing, and renewal for our world, for others and for ourselves.

            Glad to walk with you,

 Pastors  Shari and David Eggleston
