Throughout Lent, Pastor David Eggleston of the Aloha Christian Church has been leading a study on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. called "Unbinding Your Heart" by Martha Grace Reese, a rich, earthy, and thought-provoking resource based upon her book Unbinding the Gospel. This study, which was to have ended on March 19, will be continuing due to great interest past Lent. (Due to Spring Break, there will be no study on Wednesday evening, March 26).
Weekly Women's Bible Study -- A weekly Women's Bible Study meets every Friday at 11:00 a.m. at the church facility. Shari Eggleston is currently leading the study with the topic of "Women of the Bible." (please note that this study will not be meeting on March 21 due to Good Friday, or March 28 due to Spring Break)
"Out of the Boat" (Young Adult/College Age Ministry) -- We call our young adult/college age ministry "Out of the Boat," which typically meets on the third Sunday of each month after worship. They prepare and eat a meal as a part of their time together. They also plan and get ready to lead each month's "Fun Bunch," the ministry with kids and youth. Delphine Kover helps facilitate "Out of the Boat."
"Fun Bunch (Kids and Youth Ministry) -- The "Fun Bunch" typically meets on the fourth Sunday of each month after worship. Kids and youth get to prepare and eat a meal together with the help of young adults in the congregation, and also may sing, play games, pray together, and do devotions. (For March, the "Fun Bunch" will be meeting after worship on March 30.)

After 27 plus years at the
same location, the Aloha Christian Church has made a physical move to a new
location at the Cornelius Pass Business Park. The
old location had served us very well. There
were anniversaries, receptions, and community functions, to name but a few.
And memories, lots of memories. As
time went on though, the zoning rules changed and we found that we could not
expand the building any more. The
maintenance was also becoming more difficult, with two acres of field to mow,
and an aging building to attend to.
After much deliberation and prayer it was decided to
sell the property and relocate close by. We
found that buying property and building again was a far bigger burden than we
wanted to bear, so it was decided to lease space in an industrial/commercial
setting. A task force visited
several churches already utilizing flex space.
This concept would allow our congregation to concentrate more on
ministering to the needs of the community rather than having to also deal with
the constraints of owning and maintaining physical property.
After searching the area for possibilities, we settled on the
Cornelius Pass location. It was
within the limits of distance we desired to stay in; it has a wonderful frontage
on the main road, lots of available parking, and the space is very easily
modifiable to meet our needs. Plus,
there is room for possible expansion in the future if we find we need to.
There was sadness in leaving the old facility.
But the old site also will have new beginnings.
There will be new townhomes built on the site that will meet the needs of
a growing community.
We are excited about the possibilities at our new
location. So drop by to visit us
and watch what God has in store as we change and grow.
